An easy to reach winter sports paradise in the heart of the Alps
Untouched nature and cool urbanity are in such close vicinity in the Kühtai valley as hardly anywhere else. Located only 18 miles (30 kilometres) from Innsbruck, the irresistible ski resort provides great winter fun with guaranteed snow at nearly 6,500 feet (2.000m) above sea level. Numerous airlines fly daily into Innsbruck, the heart of the Alps, offering direct connections from several cities such as London and Berlin. Travel via the night trains of the German train network ‚Deutsche Bahn‘ and the Austrian train network ,ÖBB‘ as well as the Flixbus coaches are also conveniently on offer. Individual travel by car to the Kühtai valley proves also a good option during the winter.Free ski passes for the start of the winter season in the Kühtai valley
Local hotels in the Kühtai valley have joined together in offering an extra special incentive this year for the start into the long anticipated winter season: Several venues will be inviting their guests to free skiing. A ski pass will be given to anyone who books at least three nights between the 1st and 22nd December 2017. Further information about the SkiFree initiative and participating venues can be found under www.kuehtai.info/en
.Where the ski slope (nearly) knocks on the hotel room door
Hassle and queues at the ski station, miles of carrying heavy ski gear – all this does seem alien in the Kühtai valley. Typically for a ski resort, all hotels and guesthouses are conveniently placed directly off the ski slope. And thus is the motto: From stepping into the ski boot directly transferring up onto the mountain! Eleven top-modern ski lifts take winter sports enthusiasts high up to nearly 7,500 feet (2.300m) altitude where, thanks to the altitude and snow cannons, 40 sloping miles await with guaranteed snow. The ski resort is equally popular with locals as with guests and impresses with perfectly prepared ski slopes, quaint shacks and a splendid offer for beginners and professionals alike. Ski beginners feel as well here as do ambitious hobby athletes – ever so often, members of the women’s elite ski world cup visit the Kühtai valley. Winter sports enthusiasts who fancy variety can use the free of charge ski bus, which serves the neighbouring ski resort Hochötz where the same ski pass is valid and increases the possible sloping miles to 80.
A paradise for winter crazy families
The 40 sloping miles of the Kühtai valley are the perfect wintery playground for all the little snow kings and ice princesses as this sun spoilt ski resort is exceptionally family friendly. The local skiing schools not only offer great fun and play on skis but also look after the little ones on the side of the slope in age appropriate playgroups. Any little one who already feels safe on the ‚wooden boards‘, can take part in the most exciting ski-ralley in the state of Tyrol or trial cute jumps and moves in the new KidsPark. From 14th to 26th January 2018, family holidays in the Kühtai valley will be of exceptional value. During the ‚Family-Hit-Weeks‘, small children of up to 6 years sleep in the parents‘ bedroom free of charge and in addition, receive a 6-day ski pass and 5-day ski course as a present. With cosy guesthouses, an exciting igloo village, spacious holiday apartments and hotels between 3 and 4 plus star, everyone finds their perfect home from home in the Kühtai valley. This winter, the offering has increased: The hotelier family Gerber have opened a unique winter resort for everyone seeking that something special. The ‚Mooshaus‘ hotel spoils its guests for instance with the highest situated infinity pool in the Alp region, first class culinary offers and well thought-out ideas for families. A brand new offer in the ‚Mooshaus‘ hotel is the only adventure park in the Alps copying the ‚Ravensburger Spielewelt‘ (a large open-air play area for all the family) which is located in the south of Germany, near the Austrian border. In addition to the ‚Mooshaus‘ hotel, the traditional ‚Hotel Jagdschloss‘ opens its doors during the winter months of 2018, offering a new style of holiday. This former royal residence is soon going to shine with brand new high end apartments, once the current renovations of the bed and bathrooms and wellness areas are complete. The ground floor of this modern build will also comprise a restaurant and modern sports shop.
